A competition - and some FREE books!

Hello!

How would you like to pick a name for a pony in the ninth Riverdale adventure?

I am coming to the end of the first draft of the book and I have a new pony character who needs a name and a colour.

Although he only makes a fleeting appearance, he's a cheeky chap and has an amazing jump, but only when it suits him. If he takes a dislike to a filler or the colour of the poles he slams on his brakes and drops a shoulder and his poor rider flies over the fence by herself. Does that sound familiar?!

If so, would you like your pony immortalised in the Riverdale Pony Stories?

All you have to do to enter my name-a-pony competition is to like my Facebook page, share the competition post, which is pinned to the top of the page, and post your chosen pony name and colour in the comments below it.

I will pick a winner at random after the closing date of Monday 14 October 2019. The name will appear in the new book and the winner will receive a signed paperback copy of the book on its release in November.

Here's a couple of horseshoes to wish you GOOD LUCK!!

In other news, I have teamed up with some fellow children's authors to hold a fantastic children's book giveaway!

The theme of the giveaway is Girl Power, and this one's for the heroines, whether they are brave, smart, funny, kind, loyal or generous.

There are some wonderful books in the bundle, from mysteries and detective stories to fantasy and sci fi tales.

And because I know you are partial to a pony story, you'll be pleased to know that as well as Saving Grace, the standalone Riverdale novella, there are two horse stories by Canadian author Angela Dorsey in the giveaway: Abandoned and Winter of the Crystal Dances.

Here's the blurb of Abandoned:

When Lauren’s dad discovers she is being stalked, he sends her away to stay with his sister.

Lauren doesn’t want to go but when she arrives at Misty Lake, a surprise awaits: her own horse to ride! The golden days of summer stretch before her with wondrous promise.

Then Lauren overhears her stalker’s name.

Shocked, she runs away on her new horse, and finds something she never expected in a million years, something both terrible beyond belief and more amazing than she can imagine!

And here's the blurb for Winter of the Crystal Dances, the first book in the Whinnies on the Wind series:

Evy can telepathically understand horses, but she’s not sure if it’s a blessing or a curse. Her secret 'gift' certainly seems to get her in a lot of trouble.

When some starving mustangs wander close to the wilderness cabin that she shares with her hermit mother she knows she must help them.

Her act of kindness quickly snowballs into a series of events that forever changes her life and the life of a very special mustang filly.

All you have to do to download the books is click on this link.

And don't forget, it's a time-limited offer, so grab your free books while you can!

That's all from me for now.

Happy reading!
