Win signed copies of the Mill Farm Stables books!

Hello.

It seems a bit late to be wishing you a Happy New Year, and I'm sorry to say that so far 2020 has been a bit of a rollercoaster ride in the Wills household.

Sadly we lost our beautiful tabby cat Fudgie last weekend. She was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease two years ago and although she had thrived for a long time on her special renal diet, she became poorly a couple of weeks ago.

Then, suddenly, she went downhill really quickly and we had to make the awful decision to have her put to sleep last Sunday.

As you know, she was my constant companion when I was writing, and she could usually be found lounging on my thesaurus or purring on my keyboard.

Writing can be a lonely business, but she always kept me company, and the house feels very empty without her.

I take comfort from the fact that she had a lovely life with us and that we were with her at the end.

And, thank goodness, we still have her sister Minstrel to keep us on our toes.

She is already stepping into Fudgie's shoes as my new writing buddy...

Luckily it's not all sad news and I have had some lovely winter rides on Dobbie these last few weeks.

I've been riding him once a week for almost two and a half years now, and he is such an important part of my life.

My day with him always gives me lots of ideas for future story lines and I consider riding as essential research for a pony book author.

In fact it's probably tax-deductible!

A Riverdale Christmas has been a huge hit with readers and I think it's probably been my most successful book launch to date.

It's fantastic to know that after eight books people still want more Riverdale stories and I'm really looking forward to making a start on Book Ten later this year.

If you haven't read A Riverdale Christmas yet but want to find out what Poppy did next just click on this link.

And finally, the real reason for my email.

To cheer us all up I am holding a giveaway!

I am offering one lucky reader in the UK a chance to win signed paperback copies of The Thirteenth Horse and its sequel, Trophy Horse.

For those of you who haven't read the books, they follow the adventures of another pony-mad heroine of mine, Kristy Moore, her beautiful black Percheron Cassius, and their two and four-legged friends at Mill Farm Stables.

I will throw in some of my beautiful bookmarks, too!

All you have to do to be in with a chance of winning is to head over to my Facebook page, like the page and share and comment on the competition post, which is pinned to the top of the page.

For readers outside the UK there are ebook versions of both books up for grabs.

I will pick two winners at random - one in the UK and one outside the UK - in February.

If you love the Riverdale books, I know you’ll love the Mill Farm Stables stories too, so why not enter the giveaway?

You know what they say: You’ve got to be in it to win it!

So that's all from me for now. Happy reading and good luck with the giveaway!
